Modules:

 

Gender training consists of different modules. All modules are executed both in the Netherlands and in Southern countries. Some modules explicitly relate to development co-operation, others are more general. All modules are participative and contain game elements. There are modules in Dutch, English, Spanish and Portuguese.

It goes without saying that each training will be adapted to the special situation and wishes of the organisation: Methodology development

 

Gender Introduction of concepts. Gender quiz to verify knowledge of concepts. The why and how of gender and development co-operation. Gender issues related to different themes, etc.
Gender approaches Introduction of the different approaches that exist with respect to gender and development co-operation.
Inequality Method with myths and facts to illustrate power differences between women and men.
Participation Method to discuss the different reasons for the often low participation of women. Method to stimulate the active participation of women.
Gender analysis Introduction concerning the why and how of a gender analysis. The development and adaptation of material to carry out a gender analysis.
Planning, monitoring and evaluation The development of a gender specific log frame. Sex-disaggregated data. Gender indicators.
Debating and speaking habits Introduction based on the theory of Deborah Tannen and own experiences.
Gender and organisational culture Introduction (with PowerPoint) based on and on own experiences in development co-operation. Self-assessments and establishing do's and don'ts for better collaboration within teams.
